School LeaderAmanda Mace graduated with her B.A. from Grand Canyon University with a double major in English Literature and Communications: Public Relations. She also obtained her M.Ed. from Grand Canyon University with an emphasis in Secondary Education. She spent her first year teaching English at a junior high school in Phoenix, but quickly moved to the college level and taught as an English professor for 8 years at Arizona Christian University. While at the University, she spent five years as the Director of Residence Life and four years as the Head Volleyball Coach to their NAIA Volleyball team.
Mace has been at Mission Heights Preparatory High School since its doors opened in 2011. She started out as the Senior English teacher. In the fall of 2013, she started working in administration as the Dean of Students, Curriculum Coach and Teacher. In 2016, she took the position of Assistant Principal, and, finally, Mrs. Mace became MHP's School Leader in 2018. Mrs. Mace is passionate about seeing kids in the Casa Grande area succeed in and out of the classroom and pursue their College Journeys. Her encouragement to all students is to not only challenge themselves to be the best students they can be for the collegiate level but also as citizens in their communities. She lives in Casa Grande and spends most of her free time with her husband and four kids. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Later, he earned a Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University in Secondary Education.
He has taught high school math for 19 years; seven years in Bisbee, Az, and 12 years in Casa Grande, Az. In Casa Grande he taught at Casa Grande Union for four years, Vista Grande for two years, and Desert Winds (part-time at night) for three years. He has also taught math classes at Central Arizona College for the last eight years, and he taught with the University of Phoenix, Southern Arizona Campus, for four years. He has been with Mission Heights since they opened their doors in 2011 and has taught all levels of Math, from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus. He has been married for 21 years and has three children ages 17, 16, and 14 (all who have attended Mission Heights). His greatest joy is spending time with his family.
